Testimony

We came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ while we were still living in the Philippines.  Christ transformed our lives radically, saving us from a life that's ungodly and worldly. There we traded our secular music for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ through our testimonies and songs. We serve at Calvary Maricopa to express our love and joy to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His body, the church.

Juan Juarez - Church Elder

Juan and his wife Socorro came to us via Calvary Chapel Downey.  Over the years, Juan has always been willing to serve in any capacity.  In 2010, our Spanish ministries had grown large enough that we needed someone to oversee that outreach as well as handle the Translation department.  Our second service on Sunday morning offers translation for Spanish speakers.  Juan also helps oversee the facility. 

Gia Vangilder - Calvary Kidz Ministry

Gia serves the body in an incredibly important post, Children's Ministry.  Overseeing the teachers and incredible volunteers here at Calvary Chapel Maricopa can be quite involved, but Gia always has a smile on her face and a love for the kids.  To inquire about serving in Kids ministry you can email Gia at

Mike Grigsby - IGNITE Youth Ministry

Mike Grigsby is our Interim Youth Pastor and originally hails from Albuquerque, NM where he attended Calvary Albuquerque's School of Ministry.  Mike also worked with the College group at CABQ.  About a year ago, he traveled out to Phoenix to help plant The Anthem Church in Tempe with Pastor Nick Crespo.  While still serving there, he has come on board CCM to help with our Jr. High and High School Youth Group, IGNITE!  Email Mike at

Brian Dickinson - Mens Ministry

Brian and his wife Michele are originally from Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia area.  After living a life pursuing the things of the world, Brian gave his life over to Jesus when he almost lost everything dear to him.  Studying under Pastor Joe Focht in Philadelphia and then Pastor John Hessler from Calvary Chapel of Central Bucks, Brian grew to love the Word of God.  Later they moved out West and served under Pastor Rudy Paredes in Chandler, AZ, Brian and his family then moved to Maricopa.  They decided they wanted to help start a Bible Study and Calvary Chapel Maricopa was born when they connected to Pastor Chris.  Brian oversees the Men's Bible studies and also Hospitality on Sunday mornings.  Email Brian if you would like more information on Men's Ministry at CCM. 

Jim and Kathy Cordova - Ushers/Greeting Ministry

Testimony

Kathy and I come from a family of aloholic fathers, so it was easy too follow our fathers foot steps intoo drinking. Kathy and I done our share of drinking on weekends, that was our time too party. I drank almost every day, after work I would stop on the way home and buy some beer. One day in 1981 I got pulled over by the police and was arrested for a DUI.That is when the Lord said " You have served satan long enough It is now time too serve me". Kathy had already stopped drinking a year earlier,So her and one of her friend after many days of telling me about the Lord, I finally accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and I have served him ever since.
We Love serving at CCM because the church is new and just starting too grow and we want too grow with it, also we have a more personal relationship with members of the church and Pastor Chris and Pastor Clark are Blessed by the Lord because of the way they teach the word of God.
